Tate Gallery
The Tate Gallery will be holding an exhibition Pamela's work along with paintings by well-known Canadian artist Heather Cooper and ceramicist Michiko Nakamura. The show runs on Saturdays and Sundays from Nov. 26 to Dec.11, 10:00am - 4:00pm. If you can't make it at those times, the gallery is always available for personal viewings; call 905 753 2187 to make arrangements. The gallery is located at 4599 Massey Rd in Canton, just north of Port Hope. Easy to find, inspiring to visit.
Pamela has won two awards recently, the Juror's Choice Award for "Aerial" at the All Canadian Jazz Festival's Square Foot Show in Sept, followed the next month by the Award for Best Painting for "Crush" at the Visual Arts Centre of Clarington's annual juried art show. You can see both of these pieces in the "Miscellany" portfolio. |

Shifting Ground
The title of this series, "Shifting Ground", refers to the often uncomfortable notion that we rarely feel as though we are standing on solid ground despite our desperate attempts to do so. For some reason, we believe that our lives ought to feel solid and secure but the reality is really quite different; the ground beneath our feet is in a constant state of flux. Sometimes this shifting of sand beneath our feet is relatively easy to adjust to and other times the uncertainty can be overwhelming. It is how we acknowledge this nebulous reality and what we do with it that is the source of the explorations in this series. |

Miscellany
I get inspiration from a wide variety of unrelated sources. I never quite know when these flashes of inspiration will strike me but I do know that I have to pay attention and get the ideas down on canvas. The results are these wildly disconnected images which can only be appropriately placed in a "miscelaneous" portfolio. |
